The WORM newspaper posters keep on coming. Check them out for the actionpacked WORM programme, or for the nice poster backside to pin somewhere on the wall. The newspaper is to be found all over Rotterdam in cultural establishments, and appears at least once every two months.
The third edition was made around the WORM WILD WEB theme, this takes a critical stand towards the web 2.0 phenomenon (like MySpace, YouTube etc.). This edition also heralded the coming of the newly developed WORM.STATION, a streaming webstation for music and visuals. This is developed by WORM.
The fourth edition was made around the MOTORS OF INVENTION theme. This programme features a movement of musicians who create their own instruments, and they are quite something! I referred to the ‘age of invention’ by incorporating 19th century imagery in this poster design.

For the TEAMrecords label we designed a housestyle containing businescards, record sleeves and labels, logo and a website (see elsewhere on this blog). The first release sold out right away. Pressed on white vynil and with a sleeve with the logo in shiny varnish, this record really was a definite wannahave. (I should not forget to mention great music here too). More releases and events around TEAM are sure to come!

For the TEAM release party in Waterfront Rotterdam we also designed the promotional material, like flyers, posters, a banner and stickers. Below the design for the poster.

Stichting Picos de Europa approached buro Duplex for the design of this year’s Cineboards event. Cineboards brings video(art) projections to the public space. Last year it was spread over three cities. This year the screen can be viewed at the Schouwburg plein in Rotterdam. New this year is the ‘Guerilla’ program, you can find more about it on this years website.

Duplex designed a recognizable typographic image based on the idea of ’stenciling with light’, also referring to the ’street’ aspect of the new Guerilla program. This image could be used for multiple ads and print work, and eventually also the website.
The brief for the website was to make a compact festival site, with the program as key element. Various ways to search in this year’s program were incorporated.

Below is a try-out developed in the early stages. The type repeats as a reel of film, creating a nice visual cut up effect. The client preference was the more simplified image above, but for some reason I love this concept as well.

During the Amsterdam fashion week the Streetlab was organized. Promising new fashion designers and a huge customized sneakers collection could be viewed at the RAI. The AD newspaper has a little newsreel about it on their website. The Katipalsim Kicks (see also elsewhere on this blog) have a cameo appearance, go see it here!
